Here is our simple advice: If you are fortunate enough to have Julie Jensen, Baird & Warner-Evanston as your Realtor (buy or sell), do whatever she tells you to do.We had been looking to move from our home of 33 years to a condo, and an opportunity in a building we love arose on short notice. Julie strongly suggested that we get our home ready for the market for the spring season (which now happens shortly after the Super Bowl). That gave us roughly six weeks to clean out three decades of assorted detritus, and do some upgrades to the home -- most of them at Julie's suggestion -- to maximize our return.Honestly, we would have been happy to wait for fall (more time to clean out the house), but this past spring, housing inventory in Evanston was super tight so pricing was on the high side. My wonderful business relationship with The Julie Jensen Group began during Covid-19 in 2021. I needed to make a cross-country move from California to Chicago and picked Evanston because of its easy transportation to the city and proximity to Lake Michigan. I found Julie Jensen, Baird & Warner, online based on many other favorable reviews like this highlighting her local expertise, leadership and communication skills. My 2021 purchase included a few challenges as I wasn’t able to come in person for any part of it including the closing. That was no problem for Julie and her team, including inspectors and attorneys. Julie found me a wonderful top-floor condo in a very competitive market. The property was actually in the private listing network (PLN) which Julie monitors constantly and has early access to. If you need to purchase sight unseen, Julie will be with you for the long run. She knows how to make you feel like you’re her only client. On my move-in day, she even made herself and her team available to meet the moving truck since I was still in transit to Evanston. Ultimately, I decided that I wanted a waterfront view. In 2023, the market (especially waterfront) still lacked inventory but The Julie Jensen Group helped me tour (in person this time) several buildings in Wilmette. We made a couple of offers and ultimately after staying in touch with one particular listing agent, we landed my next home. Again, her team of vetted inspectors and attorneys kept my interests protected and the process as quick and easy as possible. Julie came to us as a referral from a trusted friend in the Evanston area. I was immediately impressed by her professional demeanor and down to earth personality! Although she has over 20 years experience as a realtor, I felt like she treated our home with the personal care and attention as if this was her first home transaction. What do I say about an agent that is able to sell my house in a month during a global pandemic? Need I say more? Probably not, but I will (my words of course will never live up to this larger than life super woman!). I put my house on the market in February and then Covid happened. Julie was amazing and so supportive of my decision to shut things down. She quickly adapted to the new world order without missing a beat! Her calm and gentle manor coupled with her expertise made it a blessing during such uncertain times. In May we opened my house up to limited viewings, zooms and virtual open houses all of which Julie handled with grace and knowledge. She sold the house in a month during a global pandemic.
